Sinéad Curran Bio

Sinéad has an MA in Visual Arts Practice (IADT) – She is a visual artist with a practice-led research that examines the complex relationship of individuals to place employing a visual lens in the context of the ways we live today, devising approaches to complex site-specific response. Recent exhibitions include Earth Rising - IMMA (2022), PhotoIreland Festival (2022), Tune into Green, Diorama, Austin Texas (2022) curated by Stephanie Reid, solo exhibitions: at Linenhall Arts Centre (2019, The Darkroom (2019), Rua Red(2015), Illuminations Gallery(2013). Sinead has participated in Tulca: A Headless City (2016), been awarded residencies at Villa Lena, Italy(2022), Cow House Studios (2018), Banff Center for Arts & Creativity Canada(2017), Digital Media Residency (2014/2015) Rua Red, Fire Station Artist Studios (2013) Critical thinking informs the work through making, and varied disciplines that include the writings of Donna Harraway, Robert MacFarlane, Timothy Morton and Robin Wall Kimmerer. Recipient of the Arts Council of Ireland Artist Bursary Award (2021), Agility Awards (2021 & 2022).            

 

Jane Locke Bio

Jane Locke (b. 1980 Dublin) has degrees in Analytical Science (DCU, 2001), Visual Arts Practice (IADT, 2007), a Masters in Fine Art (NCAD, 2014) and over twenty years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Recent large scale projects include; ‘ConsumerFarmer’ as part of ‘A Growing Enquiry’ at the RHA (2022), ‘Tales from a Green Post Box’ commissioned by The Lab (DCC) (2016) and illustrated guided tours of the Botanic Gardens Glasnevin with accompanying guidebook ‘A Fascinating Guide to the Botanic Gardens Glasnevin' (2016). She has delivered talks at a number of academic institutions including at The National PhD Symposium, NCAD, Dublin and at IMMA.  Her work has been shown nationally and internationally and has been acquired by private collections and the OPW.

Upcoming work: “The Lighthouse at Ballyfermot” (2022) commissioned by Dublin City Council and the RHA for Ballyfermot Library.
